How to Deal with the Raw Materials before Pelletizing?
Raw Material Size: The proper diameter of raw materials for pelletizing is 3-5mm. If the raw materials are larger than 5mm in diameter, they need to be crushed before pelletizing. Then a crusher or hammer mill is needed.
Moisture Content: The moisture content of raw materials is an essential factor that influences the final pellets quality. The most suitable moisture content for pelletizing is 12%-20%. If the raw materials contain too much moisture, they need to be dried before pelletizing. Otherwise the materials will block die holes, lowering the production efficiency.
Purity: Some metal scraps or stones may contain in the raw materials. If such impurities enter into the pellet mill, they will damage the roller and die, and consequently increasing the production cost. So the unpurified materials should be removed before pelletizing.
